Industry Sectors
Sector groupings exist so that entries are compared against work of a similar kind. A venue business and a payments vendor answer to very different constraints, and judging them in one pool tells a reader almost nothing. These groupings are the ones most commonly used when a slate is organised by trade area rather than by division.
Entries in this branch (6)
- Land-based venues
Physical gaming floors and the hospitality operations attached to them, where footfall, floor layout and staffing shape most of the evidence.
- Online operators
Businesses running licensed play over the web or through applications, typically assessed on account handling and product range.
- Platform and content suppliers
Studios and platform vendors supplying titles, engines and integration layers to operators rather than to players.
- Payments and compliance services
Vendors handling transaction routing, identity verification and regulatory reporting on an operator's behalf.
- Affiliates and trade media
Publishers, comparison services and trade press working alongside the sector rather than inside it.
- Esports and skill formats
Competitive formats whose overlap with the wider gaming trade has grown enough to warrant separate grouping.
